Story These signature sari bead necklaces are designed to use the sari fabric left after the production of the Kantha Sari Shawls, as part of our Zero Waste Policy and that of our social entrepreneur from whom we source.
We select the most striking colors and prints from the mountains of sari remnants in our workshop. These scraps are first matched, piece-by-piece, with colorful cotton thread, and then sewn into narrow, double-layered tubes. The artisans fill these tubes with wooden prayer beads, hand-stitching each bead into place with the thread. Any variations or irregularities are part of the design and inherent to the production process.
