This scarf is designed by well-known and widely respected Mumbai-based textile designer and weaver Meera Mehta. She is known for her exquisite re-imagining of traditional weaves, giving them a contempory, stylized and sophisticated look.

Her designs have been shown in homes, museums and galleries all over the world. In 1997, British Airways selected one of Meera's saree designs to be part of "The World is a Family" initiative, where textiles from all over the world adorned the tails of its planes. 

This scarf is woven using the traditional silk-cotton Maheshwari weave, re-imagined by Meera in a subtle use of color and stunning color combinations. It is woven by a weaver in Maheshwar, Central India. Meera has worked with this weaver for more than 40 years, and in that time helped him by a home and send his children to school.

• Care:
  • First, I strongly recommend spot cleaning if possible. Otherwise, please care for this very finely woven pice with a very gentle hand wash in COLD water with a mild detergent. Drip dry in shade.
  • Please wash separately. Do not soak or wring to protect the very fine yarn. This scarf is pre-washed. There may be still be some dye left on the fabric which will come off in the first few washes.
